About us
Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) Campus Ministry is a Christian organization affiliated with The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS), the second-largest Lutheran body in the United States. The LCMS' history of ministry for students on college and university campuses has for decades included a national coordinating agency. The Campus Ministry Office of LCMS World Mission provided this service until 2003, when the office was closed.
LCMS Campus Ministry (i.e., Lutheran Campus Mission Association, LCMA) was commissioned by The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod in 2004 to carry on the former Campus Ministry Office's tasks of supporting and encouraging campus ministries. LCMS Campus Ministry is a Recognized Service Organization (RSO) of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod under LCMS World Mission.
We believe the community into which the Holy Spirit has called us in the Body of Christ is our strongest weapon against the challenges to mission and ministry. We are committed to walk together in community with campus ministries, ministry leaders, students, congregations and LCMS districts to find practical, God-pleasing, long-term solutions to today's challenges.
